How to Export SoFi Transactions to CSV, Excel & QBO

Published on March 19, 2026 by CapyParse Team

Need to convert a SoFi statement to CSV, Excel, or QBO? SoFi is one of America's fastest-growing digital banks with over 10 million members. While SoFi does offer a basic CSV export for Checking and Savings transactions, it's limited to the web browser, caps at 2 years of history, and doesn't cover credit cards, Invest, or loan accounts. This guide covers every SoFi product and shows you how to get full PDF statements into Excel or QBO format.

Quick Summary

SoFi has a limited CSV export (Checking & Savings only, web-only, 2-year max). Credit cards, Invest, and loans are PDF-only. CapyParse converts any SoFi PDF to clean CSV, Excel, or QBO in seconds with 99%+ accuracy.

What Can You Export Directly from SoFi?

SoFi does offer a native CSV export, but only for Checking and Savings, and only through the website. Here's the full picture:

  • Checking & Savings CSV export (limited): On SoFi.com, go to Banking > select your account > gear icon > Export Transactions. Choose a date range (max 2 years) and download CSV. This is web-only and not available in the mobile app.
  • No Excel, QBO, or OFX export: The CSV export is the only structured format SoFi offers. There's no Excel, QBO, QFX, or OFX download option. SoFi says "additional formats will be added in the future."
  • No export for Credit Card, Invest, or Loans: SoFi credit card, brokerage, and loan statements are available only as PDF downloads. There's no CSV or structured export for these account types.
  • No Direct Connect for QuickBooks or Quicken: SoFi doesn't support OFX Direct Connect. Quicken can connect via Express Web Connect (aggregation-based), but this is known to be unreliable with frequent connection errors.

The bottom line: the built-in CSV covers basic checking and savings needs, but for credit cards, Invest, loans, Excel format, QBO import, or anything older than 2 years, you'll need to convert the PDF statement.

SoFi Statement Formats by Account Type

SoFi offers a wide range of financial products, each with its own statement format and export options:

Common entries Direct deposits, purchases, Vault transfers, interest Purchases, payments, rewards, interest Buy/sell orders, dividends, crypto trades Payments, principal, interest, fees

Key things to know: All SoFi banking products are now issued by SoFi Bank, N.A. (FDIC-insured), which received its national bank charter in February 2022. SoFi Invest brokerage accounts are held through SoFi Securities LLC (FINRA/SIPC-insured) and have a different statement layout. Automated Investing (robo-advisor) is managed by SoFi Wealth LLC. CapyParse handles all of these formats.

Convert SoFi PDF to CSV with CapyParse (Step-by-Step)

If you need Excel or QBO format, or if the built-in CSV export doesn't cover your account type, here's how to convert any SoFi PDF:

Step 1: Download Your PDF Statement

Follow the download instructions above for your account type. Save the PDF to your computer. You can download multiple months at once if needed.

Step 3: Review Extracted Transactions

CapyParse uses AI-powered extraction to identify every transaction on your SoFi statement, including dates, descriptions, amounts, and running balances. Review the results in the interactive preview. Direct deposits, Vault transfers, credit card purchases, and interest payments are all captured accurately.

SoFi Account Types and What to Expect

SoFi Checking and Savings

SoFi's flagship banking product (formerly "SoFi Money") combines checking and savings into a single experience through SoFi Bank, N.A. Checking statements include direct deposits, debit card purchases, ATM withdrawals, and peer-to-peer transfers. Savings statements show interest earned (currently 3.30% APY with qualifying direct deposit), Vault transfers, and automatic savings contributions. Statements are generated within the first 5 business days of each month. SoFi does not send paper statements for these accounts.

SoFi Vaults

Vaults let you partition your savings into up to 20 separate buckets for different goals. They earn the same APY as your main savings account and are FDIC-insured. Vault transfers appear on your savings statement as internal transactions. If you've enabled the Roundups feature, those automatic round-ups from debit card purchases also appear as Vault transfers. CapyParse correctly identifies these as internal transfers rather than external debits or credits.

SoFi Credit Card

SoFi offers three credit cards: the Unlimited 2% Cash Back, the Everyday Cash Rewards, and the Essential, all issued by SoFi Bank, N.A. There's also the SoFi Smart Card (launched December 2025), which is a charge card secured by your Checking & Savings balance, offering 5% back on groceries and travel. None of these cards offer CSV export, so statements are PDF-only. CapyParse handles all SoFi credit card statement formats, correctly parsing purchases, payments, rewards, and interest charges.

SoFi Invest

SoFi Invest includes Active Investing (self-directed, through SoFi Securities LLC), Automated Investing (robo-advisor, through SoFi Wealth LLC), and crypto trading. SoFi became the first nationally chartered bank to offer in-house crypto trading in November 2025. Brokerage statements are issued monthly when there's activity, or quarterly per FINRA regulations. They include stock and ETF trades, dividend payments, crypto transactions, and portfolio holdings. Only the last 2 years of statements are available online. CapyParse extracts the transaction-level data into a clean spreadsheet.

SoFi Personal and Student Loans

SoFi personal loan and student loan refinance statements show payment amounts, principal vs. interest breakdowns, and remaining balances. Statements are emailed around the 15th of each month. Converting these to CSV makes it easy to track payoff progress, calculate total interest paid, or document student loan interest for tax deductions (up to $2,500/year).

Import Into QuickBooks, Excel, or Google Sheets

QuickBooks

SoFi doesn't support OFX Direct Connect with QuickBooks, and its Express Web Connect (aggregation-based) connection is known to be unreliable. The most dependable approach: export your SoFi statement as a QBO file from CapyParse and import it directly into QuickBooks via Banking > Upload transactions. For a detailed walkthrough, see our guide on importing bank statements into QuickBooks.

Excel and Google Sheets

The CSV export opens directly in Excel or Google Sheets. All transaction fields (date, description, amount, balance) land in separate columns, ready for sorting, filtering, pivot tables, or custom formulas. For more on getting bank data into Google Sheets, see our Google Sheets import guide.

Xero and Other Accounting Software

Xero accepts CSV imports for bank transactions. Export from CapyParse in CSV format and follow Xero's import wizard to map the columns. For a detailed walkthrough, see our Xero import guide. Wave and FreshBooks also accept CSV imports.

Tips for SoFi Conversions

Use Built-in CSV When It Works

For basic Checking & Savings transaction exports within the last 2 years, SoFi's built-in CSV export (web only) does the job. Use CapyParse when you need Excel/QBO format, older data, or data from credit cards, Invest, or loans.

Batch Multiple Months

Upload 12 months of SoFi PDFs at once for year-end review or tax prep. CapyParse processes them all in a single batch, saving you from converting one PDF at a time.

Track High-Yield Interest

SoFi's 3.30% APY (with direct deposit) means meaningful interest income. Convert your savings statements to CSV to total up annual interest earned, which is useful for cross-checking your 1099-INT at tax time.

SoFi Relay CSV

SoFi Relay (their free budgeting tool) also has a CSV export: Relay tab > Spending > View More > View Transaction History > Export All. This exports categorized spending data rather than formal statements, so it's useful for budgeting but not for accounting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I download SoFi bank statements as CSV?

Partially. SoFi offers a CSV export for Checking and Savings transactions through the website (not the app), but it only covers the last 2 years and only outputs CSV -no Excel, QBO, or OFX. Credit card, Invest, and loan statements are PDF-only. For full statement data in any format, use CapyParse to convert the PDF.

Where do I find my SoFi statements?

For Checking and Savings: go to your Banking homepage on SoFi.com and click Statements, then select the month and year. For Invest: go to Statements and Tax Forms in your Invest account. For Credit Card: select your Credit Card, then tap Statements. For loans: statements are emailed monthly and available in your account online.

Does CapyParse work with SoFi Invest statements?

Yes. CapyParse can extract transaction data from SoFi Invest brokerage statements, including stock and ETF trades, dividends, crypto transactions, and account transfers. SoFi Invest has no CSV export, so PDF conversion is the only way to get this data into a spreadsheet.

How far back can I get SoFi statements?

SoFi Invest statements are available for the last 2 years online. Checking and Savings PDF statements are available by month from your Banking homepage. The built-in CSV export covers a maximum 2-year date range. For older records, you may need to contact SoFi support.

Is it safe to upload my SoFi statement to CapyParse?

CapyParse uses encrypted connections (TLS) for all uploads. Your documents are stored in a secure, encrypted database with AES-256 encryption at rest.
