Convert Venmo Statements to CSV, Excel & QBO
Venmo’s own statement is a CSV, one month per file, with title rows on top and amounts written as text. There is no QuickBooks file. If what you have is a PDF, like a Venmo Credit Card statement or a statement a client saved and sent you, drop it below.

What Venmo exports natively, and where it stops
A lot of people search for how to download a Venmo statement as a PDF. The honest answer is that Venmo’s statement is a CSV. Here is what exists:
| Format | Where | History | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| CSV statement | Statements, under Settings in the app or in the sidebar on venmo.com | One month per file | You pick a month and year, then download or email it. The file typically opens with title rows above the header, and writes amounts as text like "- $885.00", which spreadsheets do not treat as numbers. |
| QBO, QFX, or OFX | Not offered | None | No QuickBooks or Quicken file, and no QuickBooks Online connection. Getting Venmo into accounting software means importing a file you prepared yourself. |
| PDF statements | Venmo Credit Card section of the app, under View statements | Monthly, by billing cycle | Venmo’s help page describes account statements as a downloadable CSV and mentions no PDF. Real Venmo PDFs are mostly credit card statements, or account statements somebody printed to PDF. |
Venmo export behavior as of September 2026.
If you can sign in, the CSV is there, and twelve of them make a year. If you are a bookkeeper, you usually cannot sign in. You get whatever the client sends, and that is usually a PDF. CapyParse turns that PDF into rows with real numeric amounts.
From Venmo PDF to spreadsheet in two short steps
Get a Venmo statement you can upload
- 1Venmo Credit Card: open the card section in the Venmo app, choose View statements, and download the cycle you need.
- 2Venmo account: open Statements on venmo.com, pick the month, and use your browser’s print dialog to save the page as a PDF.
- 3Upload the PDFs together. A statement a client emailed you works the same way.
Convert with CapyParse
- 1Upload the PDFs, digital or scanned, one statement or a whole year in a batch.
- 2Review every extracted transaction next to the original page, with anything unusual flagged for a quick check.
- 3Export CSV, Excel, or QBO. Multi-account statements come out as one clean file per account.
Built for the way Venmo prints statements
Venmo activity is not shaped like a bank ledger. These are the parts that need care:
Who paid whom
Every Venmo row has a sender and a recipient, and the same person shows up on both sides across a month. Each row comes out with a signed amount, so money in and money out are never confused.
Notes stay attached
The note is often the only clue to what a payment was for. It stays on the row as the description, emoji and all, so you can categorize later.
Transfers are not income
Moving your balance out to a bank is a transfer. Those rows stay clearly labeled, which matters when you total what a business profile actually earned.
Fees are visible
Business profiles pay a fee on each payment received. Where the statement prints the fee, it is kept as its own figure so gross and net both reconcile.
Does Venmo have PDF statements?
Not in the way a bank does. Venmo’s help page says account statements are a downloadable CSV, available in the app and on the web, for personal accounts, business profiles, and charity profiles. You choose a month, and you get a file for that month.
The Venmo Credit Card is different. It is a Visa issued by Synchrony, and its statements are separate from the account statement. Those are proper monthly PDFs, found in the card section of the app.
So when someone hands you a "Venmo statement PDF", it is one of two things: a credit card statement, or an account statement that was printed to PDF. Both convert. Upload it and export CSV, Excel, or QBO.
Three formats out, ready for your tools
CSV
Opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets with dates, descriptions, and amounts in separate columns. The universal import format for every accounting tool.
Excel (XLSX)
Native spreadsheet formatting, one sheet per account on combined statements, ready for pivot tables and formulas.
QBO for QuickBooks
A Web Connect file with the financial institution details QuickBooks verifies, so imports work on the first try instead of failing with a bank error.
Review everything before you export
Every extracted transaction appears next to the original statement page, with anything unusual flagged for a second look. Nothing leaves for your books until you have seen it.

Venmo conversion questions
How do I download a Venmo statement as a PDF?
Venmo’s account statement downloads as a CSV, not a PDF. To get a PDF, open Statements on venmo.com, pick the month, and print the page to PDF from your browser. Venmo Credit Card statements are the exception: they are PDFs, found in the card section of the app under View statements.
Can you export Venmo transactions to Excel?
Yes. Open Statements in the app or on venmo.com, choose a month, and download the CSV, which Excel opens. Expect some cleanup, since amounts are written as text with a currency sign. If you only have a PDF, upload it to CapyParse and export an Excel file with numeric amounts.
How do I download my Venmo business transactions for bookkeeping?
Switch to the business profile and open Statements. Each month downloads as its own CSV. Every payment to a business profile counts as goods and services for tax reporting, so keep all twelve months. To bring them into QuickBooks, convert the statement with CapyParse and export as QBO.
Can I import Venmo into QuickBooks?
Venmo offers no QBO file and has no QuickBooks Online connection. Convert your statement PDF with CapyParse and export as QBO, then upload it in QuickBooks under Banking, then Upload transactions.
Does this work with Venmo Credit Card statements?
Yes. The Venmo Credit Card is issued by Synchrony and gets a standard monthly card statement. Purchases, payments, interest, and cash back credits are read as printed, and each row keeps its direction.
Is it safe to upload my Venmo statement?
All uploads are encrypted in transit via HTTPS. The free converter on this page processes your file in memory and does not keep it. When you sign up, your documents are stored securely in your account, only you can access them, and you can delete any document from your dashboard at any time.
