What TD Canada Trust exports natively, and where it stops
TD documents its EasyWeb downloads in more detail than most Canadian banks, and the limits are specific. Here is what each option covers:
| Format | Where | History | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spreadsheet CSV (Account Activity) | Account Activity, choose a period, Download at the bottom of the page | The period you pick, from 18 months of viewable chequing history | A live activity export, not the statement. Users report no header row and debit and credit in separate columns, which spreadsheet importers misread. |
| Quicken / QuickBooks / Simply Accounting / CSV | My Accounts, Download Transactions | Activity since your last download, up to 45 days | TD’s own wording. A year means nine or more separate downloads, and a missed window leaves a gap you will not notice until the books do not balance. |
| PDF statements | Statements & Documents, filter by year | Up to 7 years from the day you switch to online statements | Cards show the current cycle plus six past statements in Account Activity. Older ones live under Statements & Documents. Authorized users on a personal card cannot see statements at all. |
TD Canada Trust export behavior as of October 2026.
For a month of bookkeeping the 45-day download is workable. For a year, a tax review, or a new client who hands you a folder of TD statements, the PDFs are the only complete record. CapyParse converts them to CSV, Excel, or QBO with one row per transaction.
From TD Canada Trust PDF to spreadsheet in two short steps
Get your statement PDFs from EasyWeb
- 1Sign in to EasyWeb and open Statements & Documents, or in the TD app go to More, Settings, Statements and Documents. If you are still on paper, switch all accounts to online first. The 7-year archive counts from that day.
- 2Pick the account and filter by year. Each statement opens as a PDF. Save it. Web Business Banking users can query up to 7 years and download five eStatements at a time.
- 3Upload the batch here. Each month is read on its own and the exports line up as one table in statement order.
Convert with CapyParse
- 1Upload the PDFs, digital or scanned, one statement or a whole year in a batch.
- 2Review every extracted transaction next to the original page, with anything unusual flagged for a quick check.
- 3Export CSV, Excel, or QBO. Multi-account statements come out as one clean file per account.
Built for the way TD Canada Trust prints statements
TD prints chequing, credit card, and business statements in different layouts. CapyParse reads each one as printed:
Withdrawals and deposits in two columns
Chequing and savings statements split money out and money in with a running balance. The export keeps both columns and adds a signed amount, so QuickBooks and Excel each get what they prefer.
Card dates without a year
A TD Visa statement covers one billing cycle and prints transaction and posting dates without a year. The year comes from the statement period, so a December charge never lands in the wrong tax year.
Foreign currency on card statements
A US-dollar purchase on an Aeroplan or First Class Travel card shows the original amount, the exchange rate, and the CAD total. Those stay attached to one transaction instead of becoming three rows.
Long descriptions stay whole
Interac e-Transfer, bill payment, and pre-authorized debit entries often wrap across lines. Each stays one transaction with its full description, and cheque numbers stay with their rows.
Why TD users end up at the PDFs
TD’s software download is honest about its limit: it fetches activity since your last download, to a maximum of 45 days. That is built for someone who reconciles every few weeks in Quicken or QuickBooks, and it works for them. It is not built for a bookkeeper onboarding a client in October who needs January.
The Quicken and QuickBooks feeds are the other route, and the forums track their outages the way other people track the weather. When a feed breaks, the fallback TD and Intuit both suggest is the manual download, which brings you back to the 45 days.
The statements do not have that problem. Seven years, every account type including TD credit cards, one PDF per month, viewable in EasyWeb and the app. Download the months you need, convert them here, and export CSV for Excel or QBO for QuickBooks with the full descriptions intact.
Three formats out, ready for your tools
CSV
Opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets with dates, descriptions, and amounts in separate columns. The universal import format for every accounting tool.
Excel (XLSX)
Native spreadsheet formatting, one sheet per account on combined statements, ready for pivot tables and formulas.
QBO for QuickBooks
A Web Connect file with the financial institution details QuickBooks verifies, so imports work on the first try instead of failing with a bank error.
Review everything before you export
Every extracted transaction appears next to the original statement page, with anything unusual flagged for a second look. Nothing leaves for your books until you have seen it.

TD Canada Trust conversion questions
How do I download TD Canada Trust transactions to Excel?
In EasyWeb, open the account, choose a period in Account Activity, and use Download at the bottom of the page with the spreadsheet option. The file is a CSV of recent activity. For a full year or an official record, save the monthly statement PDFs from Statements & Documents and convert them with CapyParse, which exports CSV and Excel.
How far back can I get TD statements?
Up to 7 years of online statements, counted from the day you switched to online delivery, for chequing, savings, lines of credit, mortgages, registered accounts, and TD credit cards. Paper copies of statements older than 90 days carry a fee. Save the PDFs you need and upload them to CapyParse in one batch.
Does this work with TD Visa statements?
Yes. TD Aeroplan, Cash Back, First Class Travel, Rewards, and business Visa statements convert with purchases, payments, credits, interest, and fees kept as separate types, and foreign currency lines keep their exchange rate and CAD amount.
Can I convert TD Web Business Banking statements?
Yes. Web Business Banking shows the five most recent eStatements per account and lets you query up to 7 years, five downloads at a time. Business chequing statements convert with cheque numbers, EFT descriptions, and the separate debit and credit columns preserved.
Can I import TD Canada Trust statements into QuickBooks?
Yes. Export as QBO and upload it in QuickBooks Online under Banking, then Upload transactions, or in QuickBooks Desktop through Web Connect import. CapyParse fills in the financial institution details QuickBooks checks, so the file imports without the "unable to verify financial institution" error.
Is it safe to upload my TD statement?
All uploads are encrypted in transit via HTTPS. When you sign up, your documents are stored securely in your account, only you can access them, and you can delete any document from your dashboard at any time.
