Convert Charles Schwab Statements to CSV, Excel & QBO
Schwab keeps up to 10 years of statements online, which is generous. Getting them into a spreadsheet is not. The export on the History page covers recent activity only, and combined Schwab One statements never export as one file. Drop a statement below.

What Charles Schwab exports natively, and where it stops
Schwab is primarily a brokerage, and its export tooling was built for trades, not for bank reconciliation. That shows. Here is what each option covers:
| Format | Where | History | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| CSV (History export) | Accounts, then History, Export link at the top right | Recent activity for the range the page offers | An activity feed, not a statement. One account at a time, and the range picker does not reach the older statement periods. |
| OFX / QFX / Direct Connect | Quicken and similar tools | Retired for most accounts | Schwab ended OFX Direct Connect and now requires its own connection method. Third-party tools that relied on it lost the feed. |
| PDF statements | Statements & Tax Forms | Up to 10 years | One of the deepest archives of any US institution, and the only format that includes the bank side of a combined Schwab One statement. |
Charles Schwab export behavior as of September 2026.
A Schwab customer who needs three years of Investor Checking for a mortgage application, or a decade of savings interest for an audit, has the PDFs and not much else. That archive is what CapyParse converts, one clean table per account, even when the checking account is printed inside a brokerage statement.
From Charles Schwab PDF to spreadsheet in two short steps
Get your statement PDFs from schwab.com
- 1Sign in at schwab.com and open Statements & Tax Forms from the Accounts menu.
- 2Filter to the bank account, or to the Schwab One account if your checking is linked to it, and pick the statement period.
- 3Download the PDF for each month you need. Schwab keeps up to 10 years, so a long batch is fine.
Convert with CapyParse
- 1Upload the PDFs, digital or scanned, one statement or a whole year in a batch.
- 2Review every extracted transaction next to the original page, with anything unusual flagged for a quick check.
- 3Export CSV, Excel, or QBO. Multi-account statements come out as one clean file per account.
Built for the way Charles Schwab prints statements
Schwab statements mix banking and brokerage on the same page more than any other bank on this site. CapyParse handles that as printed:
Bank accounts inside brokerage statements
A Schwab One statement can print the linked Investor Checking account as its own section. That section comes out as its own table, with its own running balance, instead of being merged into brokerage activity.
Transfers between linked accounts
Sweeps and transfers between checking and brokerage appear on both sides. Each side keeps its own direction, so the export reconciles instead of double-counting.
Interest and ATM rebates as rows
Monthly interest credits and the worldwide ATM fee rebates on Investor Checking are separate lines on the statement. They stay separate lines in the export.
Former TD Ameritrade statements
If your history spans the migration to Schwab, the older TD Ameritrade PDFs use a different layout. Upload both kinds in one batch. Each is read on its own terms.
Brokerage statements, too
This page is about Schwab Bank accounts, because that is what most people converting a Schwab PDF need. But the same converter reads the brokerage side. Trades, dividends, interest, contributions, and fees on a Schwab One or IRA statement come out with the activity type, quantity, and price in their own columns.
The one thing to know is that a brokerage statement and a bank statement answer different questions, so they export as different tables. A combined statement gives you both, in one Excel workbook with a sheet per account.
Three formats out, ready for your tools
CSV
Opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets with dates, descriptions, and amounts in separate columns. The universal import format for every accounting tool.
Excel (XLSX)
Native spreadsheet formatting, one sheet per account on combined statements, ready for pivot tables and formulas.
QBO for QuickBooks
A Web Connect file with the financial institution details QuickBooks verifies, so imports work on the first try instead of failing with a bank error.
Review everything before you export
Every extracted transaction appears next to the original statement page, with anything unusual flagged for a second look. Nothing leaves for your books until you have seen it.

Charles Schwab conversion questions
How do I download my Schwab checking account statement?
Sign in at schwab.com, open Accounts, then Statements & Tax Forms. Select the bank account, or the linked Schwab One account if your checking is attached to it, choose the statement period, and download the PDF. Statements are available for up to 10 years. To get the transactions into a spreadsheet, upload the PDF to CapyParse.
Can I export Schwab transactions to CSV?
Partly. The History page on schwab.com has an Export link that produces a CSV of recent activity for one account. It does not cover older statement periods and it does not export the bank section of a combined statement. For anything beyond recent months, convert the PDF statements with CapyParse.
Does this work with combined Schwab One and Investor Checking statements?
Yes. When a Schwab One statement includes the linked checking account, CapyParse separates them and exports one table per account. The Excel export puts each account on its own sheet, and the CSV and QBO exports produce one file per account.
Does this work with Schwab brokerage statements?
Yes. Brokerage activity such as buys, sells, dividends, interest, and contributions is read from the statement with activity type, quantity, and price in their own columns. It exports as a separate table from any bank account on the same statement.
Can I import Schwab statements into QuickBooks?
Yes. Export as QBO and upload it in QuickBooks under Banking, then Upload transactions. CapyParse fills in the financial institution details QuickBooks checks, so the file imports without the "unable to verify financial institution" error. This matters more for Schwab than most banks, since Schwab no longer offers OFX or QBO downloads of its own.
Is it safe to upload my Schwab statement?
All uploads are encrypted in transit via HTTPS. Your documents are stored securely, only you can access your data, and you can delete any document from your dashboard at any time.
