What Fifth Third exports natively, and where it stops
Fifth Third publishes less about its download than most banks and keeps less history online. Here is what its own pages say:
| Format | Where | History | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transaction download | Online banking | Up to 24 months of account history | Fifth Third does not document which file formats personal online banking offers. Its FAQ says there is no Web Connect download for QuickBooks, so no QBO file. |
| Direct Connect (Quicken & QuickBooks) | Inside Quicken or QuickBooks | Ongoing sync | Works with checking, savings, and credit accounts. Fifth Third does not publish its fees or how much history it brings in. |
| eStatements (PDF) | Statements in online banking or the app | 24 months | The same window for personal and business accounts, with check images on business. Older statements are not online, so save each PDF as it posts. |
| Fifth Third Direct (commercial) | Treasury file reporting | Set by the service | BAI2 and MT940/942 files for treasury clients. Separate from personal and small business online banking. |
Fifth Third export behavior as of October 2026.
Twenty-four months is a short archive. Anything older is not in online banking, so it comes from PDFs you saved or paper you kept. CapyParse converts both, and since Fifth Third has no QBO download, it is also the simplest way to get a QuickBooks file from a statement.
From Fifth Third PDF to spreadsheet in two short steps
Get your statement PDFs from 53.com
- 1Sign in at 53.com or in the Fifth Third app and open the statements for the account.
- 2Pick each statement period you need. Only the last 24 months are online, so save the oldest months before they roll off.
- 3Upload the PDFs here together. Scanned paper statements work too.
Convert with CapyParse
- 1Upload the PDFs, digital or scanned, one statement or a whole year in a batch.
- 2Review every extracted transaction next to the original page, with anything unusual flagged for a quick check.
- 3Export CSV, Excel, or QBO. Multi-account statements come out as one clean file per account.
Built for the way Fifth Third prints statements
Fifth Third checking, credit card, and business statements each print differently. CapyParse reads each one as printed:
Checks keep their numbers
Where a statement lists checks paid or prints check images, the images are skipped and the check number stays with its row, so you can match each one against your register.
Deposits and withdrawals stay signed
Whether a statement groups credits and debits in separate sections or prints them in one list, each row comes out with the right sign and the running balance where one is printed.
Charges stay charges
Cash/Back card statements separate payments, purchases, fees, and interest. Each row keeps its type and direction, so a payment never imports into your books as a purchase.
Comerica and Fifth Third in one table
A 2026 history for a former Comerica account comes in two layouts. Each statement is read on its own terms and the exports share one set of columns.
Statements from the Comerica conversion
Comerica Bank accounts became Fifth Third accounts on September 8, 2026. Fifth Third says six months of transaction history and 24 months of statements moved over automatically, and Comerica sent a final statement covering activity through September 4, 2026.
That leaves 2026 split across two banks and two layouts, and statements older than 24 months are not in Fifth Third online banking at all. If you saved Comerica statements, keep them. Upload both sets together. Each statement is read on its own terms and the exports share one column layout, so the year becomes one continuous table.
Three formats out, ready for your tools
CSV
Opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets with dates, descriptions, and amounts in separate columns. The universal import format for every accounting tool.
Excel (XLSX)
Native spreadsheet formatting, one sheet per account on combined statements, ready for pivot tables and formulas.
QBO for QuickBooks
A Web Connect file with the financial institution details QuickBooks verifies, so imports work on the first try instead of failing with a bank error.
Review everything before you export
Every extracted transaction appears next to the original statement page, with anything unusual flagged for a second look. Nothing leaves for your books until you have seen it.

Fifth Third conversion questions
Can I download Fifth Third transactions as a CSV?
Fifth Third does not document a CSV or Excel download for personal online banking, and it does not publish which file formats it offers. Online history covers up to 24 months. To get a spreadsheet, convert your Fifth Third statement PDF with CapyParse and export CSV or Excel.
How far back can I get Fifth Third statements?
Fifth Third keeps up to 24 months of eStatements online for personal accounts, and the last 24 months of statements and check images for business accounts. Account history in online banking and the app also covers up to 24 months. For anything older, use PDFs you saved or paper statements, which CapyParse converts as scans.
Does Fifth Third offer a QBO file for QuickBooks?
No. Fifth Third’s FAQ says it does not support Web Connect download for QuickBooks. It offers Direct Connect instead, a live connection from Quicken or QuickBooks for checking, savings, and credit accounts. To get a QBO file, convert the PDF statement with CapyParse and upload it in QuickBooks under Banking, then Upload transactions.
Can I convert old Comerica statements?
Yes. Comerica accounts moved to Fifth Third on September 8, 2026, with 24 months of statements carried over. Statements from before and after the conversion both convert, and the exports use the same columns, so you can combine them into one file.
Does this work with Fifth Third credit card and business statements?
Yes. Fifth Third Cash/Back card statements convert with purchases, payments, fees, and interest kept in the right direction. Business Checking, Business Premium Checking, and Business Elite Checking statements convert the same way as personal ones, check numbers included.
Is it safe to upload my Fifth Third statement?
All uploads are encrypted in transit via HTTPS. When you sign up, your documents are stored securely in your account, only you can access them, and you can delete any document from your dashboard at any time.
