What Regions exports natively, and where it stops

Regions documents a real download for Quicken and QuickBooks and says nothing about spreadsheets. Here is what its own help pages commit to:

Regions export behavior as of October 2026.

For the last 18 months, Regions’ own download into QuickBooks or Quicken is the easy path. For anything older, or for a spreadsheet, you are working from the statements. CapyParse turns those PDFs into CSV, Excel, or QBO, so the years past the window import the same way the recent months do.

From Regions PDF to spreadsheet in two short steps

Get your statement PDFs from Regions Online Banking

  1. 1Sign in to Regions Online Banking and choose Online Statements from the Accounts menu.
  2. 2Pick the account and the statement period on the Online Statements & Documents page, then open the PDF. Up to 7 years are available while you are enrolled.
  3. 3Save each month you need and upload them here in one batch. A single PDF that covers several months works too.

Convert with CapyParse

  1. 1Upload the PDFs, digital or scanned, one statement or a whole year in a batch.
  2. 2Review every extracted transaction next to the original page, with anything unusual flagged for a quick check.
  3. 3Export CSV, Excel, or QBO. Multi-account statements come out as one clean file per account.

Built for the way Regions prints statements

Regions checking, savings, and credit card statements each print differently. CapyParse reads each one as printed:

Fee and interest totals stay out

Regions credit card statements carry a year-to-date summary of fees and interest. Those totals are read as context, so they never show up in your export as a phantom charge.

Checks keep their numbers

Where a checking statement lists checks paid, the check number stays with the row, so you can match each one against your register.

Deposits and withdrawals stay signed

Whether a statement groups deposits and withdrawals in separate sections or prints them in one list, each row comes out with the right sign and the running balance where one is printed.

Seven years, one layout

A statement from 2019 does not look exactly like one from 2026. Each is read on its own terms and the exports share one set of columns, so a multi-year batch becomes one continuous table.

Regions and QuickBooks: what the download covers

Regions still offers a free Web Connect download for QuickBooks and Quicken. From the account details page, choose Download Transactions, pick your software, and set a date range. QuickBooks Direct Connect is offered too, free for 90 days and then $14.95 or $19.95 a month depending on the account type. On a Mac, Web Connect is the only option.

The limit is history, not format. Online Banking starts with 90 days of activity when you enroll and builds up to 18 months. Anything older is not in the download at all. It lives in your statements, which Regions keeps online for up to seven years while you stay enrolled.

So the split is simple. Use Regions’ own download for the last 18 months and convert statements for everything before that. CapyParse exports QBO as well, so older years go into QuickBooks through the same Upload transactions screen as the recent ones.

Three formats out, ready for your tools

CSV

Opens directly in Excel and Google Sheets with dates, descriptions, and amounts in separate columns. The universal import format for every accounting tool.

Excel (XLSX)

Native spreadsheet formatting, one sheet per account on combined statements, ready for pivot tables and formulas.

QBO for QuickBooks

A Web Connect file with the financial institution details QuickBooks verifies, so imports work on the first try instead of failing with a bank error.

Review everything before you export

Every extracted transaction appears next to the original statement page, with anything unusual flagged for a second look. Nothing leaves for your books until you have seen it.

Regions conversion questions

How do I download transactions from Regions Online Banking?

Open the account details page and select the Download Transactions icon above the pending activity. Choose the software you use, pick the accounts and a date range, and submit. Regions documents this download for Quicken and QuickBooks. For older periods, or for a CSV or Excel file, download your statements instead and convert them with CapyParse.

Can I export Regions transactions to CSV or Excel?

Regions’ help pages describe the transaction download for Quicken and QuickBooks and do not mention a CSV or Excel option. To get a spreadsheet, convert your Regions statement PDF with CapyParse and export CSV or Excel. Each transaction comes out as its own row with the date, description, and amount in separate columns.

How far back can I get Regions statements?

While you are enrolled in Online Statements, Regions lets you view, save, or print up to seven years of statements, and credit card statements are available for seven years too. Transaction history online is shorter: 90 days when you first enroll, building up to 18 months.

Does Regions charge for QuickBooks?

Web Connect is free. QuickBooks Direct Connect is free for 90 days and then costs $14.95 or $19.95 a month, depending on your account type. Direct Connect with Quicken is free. For history older than 18 months, convert the PDF statements with CapyParse and export QBO, then upload the file in QuickBooks under Banking, then Upload transactions.

Does this work with Regions credit card and business statements?

Yes. Regions credit card statements convert with purchases, payments, fees, and interest kept in the right direction, and the year-to-date fee and interest summary stays out of your rows. Small business checking, savings, and money market statements convert the same way as personal ones.

Is it safe to upload my Regions statement?

All uploads are encrypted in transit via HTTPS. When you sign up, your documents are stored securely in your account, only you can access them, and you can delete any document from your dashboard at any time.
